This is a 3 Days Gorilla Safari starting and ending in Uganda’s Safari Capital, Kampala. The safari will take you in search of the rare mountain gorillas at Bwindi Forest in Western Uganda.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is located in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the western rift valley. This tropical moist natural forest one of the largest natural forest in East Africa is a home to half of the remaining mountain gorillas. The forest also supports a large number of plants and animals not found elsewhere as well as endemic Albertine bird species.

Apart from the rare mountain gorillas, there are nine other species of primates including chimpanzees, blue monkeys, red tailed monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkey, black and white colobus, potto, Demidoff's and needle-clawed galagos. 347 species of birdsof which seven species are listed as endangered and over 200 species of butterflies have also been recorded here.

 

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala - Bwindi Gorilla Forest

Our safari guide will pick you from your accommodation establishment at 0700hrs and depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National park located in southwest Uganda. Have a stopover at the Equator for photos and later continue with the drive through savannah grasslands seeing banana plantations and herds of Ankole cattle with their incredibly long curving horns. The journey through the Kigezi highlands, also known as the "Switzerland of Africa", is stunning given the terraced farming and mountain scenery. Dinner and Overnight at the Campsite

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest

After an early breakfast you will be transferred to the park headquarters where the ranger guides will brief you before entering the gorilla sanctuary for your adventure. The beauty of the tropical rain forest is spectacular. The thrill of spending time looking in the deep blue eyes of these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome adventure, exciting experience and unforgettable through your lifetime! After tracking, time permitting go for a nature walk through the forest or pay a visit to the local communities. Dinner and overnight at the Campsite

Day 3: Return to Kampala

After breakfast, return to Kampala passing through the beautiful countryside of Western Uganda with a stopover in Mbarara for lunch.
