This 2 days Jinja Tour takes you to Jinja town, the second commercial centre in Uganda. It was established in 1907 growing from a simple fishing village. It was founded by the British, as an administrative centre for the Provincial Government Headquarters for Busoga region. The safari will start with a visit to the human-born Sezibwa Falls and later take you briefly to the Mabira Forest, a well developed ecotourism site.
The tour will later take you to Jinja town which is well endowed with historical resources which include the Source of the Nile, the Bujagali Falls, old Styled Indian buildings among others. White water rafting at the 5 grade rapids of the Nile is another unforgettable experience you can be rewarded from this tour.
Tour itinerary
Day 1 Morning activities
- Our city guide will pick you from your hotel and drive you to Jinja found in the Eastern part of Uganda.
- Have a stop over at the Sezibwa falls-the cultural site well known for its spectacular falls. According to the local beliefs the river is known to have been born by humans.
- Visit the Mabira Forest, the largest remaining tropical forest in Central Uganda and then connect to Jinja.
Afternoon activities
- Brief drive through the Historical Jinja town
- Explore the source of the Nile by taking a boat ride to the source of the Nile.
- Souvenir shopping from the gift shops
- Dinner and Overnight at the Jinja Nile Resort
Day 2 White water rafting
- Whole day rafting at the Mighty Nile. Return to Kampala reaching late evening
