Lake Mburo & Queen Elizabeth Safari- 3 days

This is a 3 days safari starting and ending in Uganda’s capital, Kampala. This safari will take you to Lake Mburo National park and Queen Elizabeth National park located in western Uganda. This safari can also be tailored for you on a private basis.

Lake Mburo National Park lies in the southern part of Uganda. It covers extensive acacia woodland and has got markedly different fauna to other reserves. Lake Mburo is the best place in Uganda where the gigantic eland antelopes can be seen, as well as zebras, topis, impalas, and several acacia-associated birds. In the park there also five lakes which attract hippos, crocodiles and a variety of waterbirds, while fringing swamps hide secretive papyrus specialists such as the foot-webbed sitatunga antelopes, and red, black and yellow papyrus gonalek.
The safari will also take you to Queen Elizabeth national park. Located on the foothills of the legendary mountains of the moon in southwestern part of the country. The park consists of varied vegetation zones ranging from open savannah to rainforests, from dense papyrus swamps and brooding crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward. This has made the park to be highest biodiversity conservation area in the world. The park has got almost 100 mammal species and a remarkable 606 bird species. This makes it a superb safari territory with fantastic attractions such as elephants, a profusion of hippos, the elusive giant forest hogs and handsome Uganda kobs. Its location in the shadow of the Rwenzori Mountains also make it to be a must-be-visited safari destination in Africa

TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1 Kampala - Lake Mburo NP

Our guide will pick you from your hotel or residence and depart for Lake Mburo National Park. Have a stopover at Mpigi crafts and at the Equator crossing to take some pictures. Arrive in the park for lunch and then have an evening game drive through the park. On the drive expect seeing different animals such as Elands, buffaloes, Topis, Klipspringers and Zebras. Continue to the lake to have a look at the water birds diving for fish as well as other animals that are water-lovers. Retire in the evening. Dinner and Overnight at Mantana tented camp/

Day 2 Queen Elizabeth NP

After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park one of the most outstanding wildlife treasures of Uganda. It has been designated a Biosphere Reserve for Humanity under UNESCO auspices. As you descend to the park stop observe the good scenic view of the western arm of the Great East African rift valley as well as Rwenzori Mountains. Arrival and checking in at your preferred accommodation establishment. Have lunch; connect to the Kazinga channel a waterway that joins Lake Edward and Lake George. This waterway is blessed with schools of hippos, buffaloes, elephants and other animals that come for a drink at the banks. Time permitting, take on an evening game drive which may be rewarded by seeing several animals most especially antelopes. Retire to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight at Mweya/Jacana safari Lodge.

Day 3 Queen Elizabeth NP - Kampala

Wake up very early for a morning game drive to catch-up with the early grazing animals warthogs, stripped jackals, elephants, bushbucks as well as predators such as lions, leopards, and hyenas returning to their hideouts. After breakfast visit the local communities salt works at Lake Katwe and then return to Kampala arriving late in the afternoon.
