Welcome to Uganda! Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you’ll be greeted by our representative who will assist you with your transfer to your hotel. After checking in and freshening up, you can enjoy a leisurely evening exploring Entebbe. Take a walk along the shores of Lake Victoria or visit the local markets for a taste of Ugandan culture and cuisine. Prepare for the adventure ahead as you rest up for an exciting safari.
After breakfast, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its lush landscapes and diverse wildlife. The journey, which takes approximately 8-9 hours, offers breathtaking views of the rolling hills and picturesque countryside of southwestern Uganda. Check into your lodge upon arrival, and spend the evening relaxing and soaking in the serene surroundings of the rainforest.
Today is the highlight of your safari: gorilla trekking! After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking etiquette and safety. With your guide, you’ll hike through the dense forest in search of one of the park’s habituated gorilla families. This thrilling experience offers the chance to observe these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to your lodge for a well-deserved rest and dinner.
For a deeper immersion, you’ll have the opportunity to embark on a second gorilla trek today. This trek will take you to a different gorilla group, offering a unique experience and further opportunities for observation and photography. Spend the afternoon at leisure, perhaps enjoying a guided nature walk or visiting a nearby village to learn more about local culture. Return to your lodge for a relaxing evening.
Depart Bwindi for Queen Elizabeth National Park, located approximately 3-4 hours away by road. The park is renowned for its diverse ecosystems, including savannahs, wetlands, and rainforests. On arrival, check into your lodge and enjoy a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, which provides excellent opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. The evening can be spent relaxing at your lodge or going on an optional evening game drive.
Start your day with an early morning game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park is home to a wide range of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes. Your guide will help you spot and identify various species while providing insights into their behavior and habitat. After breakfast, enjoy some leisure time or visit the nearby Ishasha region, known for its tree-climbing lions. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll embark on a guided nature walk through the forest, where you’ll have the chance to see chimpanzees, monkeys, and a variety of bird species. Return to your lodge for a peaceful evening and dinner.
Your final day begins with a chimpanzee trekking adventure. Early in the morning, you’ll head into the forest with a guide to track and observe the chimpanzees in their natural environment. This fascinating experience offers a glimpse into the lives of our closest relatives. After trekking, return to your lodge for lunch. Depending on your flight schedule, you’ll be transferred back to Entebbe for your departure. If time allows, you may have the opportunity for some last-minute shopping or sightseeing before your flight.
