8 Days Luxury Uganda Safari Holiday combining the mountain gorilla tracking and wildlife tours in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Kibale Forest and Queen Elizabeth National Park, a savanna national park in Western Uganda named after the famous Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.

This safari starts with a visit to Kibale tropical moist Forest with its thirteen species of primates. These include chimpanzees, red colobus monkeys, Vervet monkeys, Red Tailed monkeys, L’hoest, Grey Cheeked Mangabeys, Galogos among others. Tracking the noisy chimpanzee families racing through this high forest canopy is a thrilling and memorable experience.
From the Bigodi Wetland sanctuary, many forest and swamp birds can be seen as well as some primates.
On the savannah plains located on the foothills of the mountains of the moon, see the great game of Africa in the magnificent Queen Elizabeth National Park. From this park a number of wild animals can be seen which include elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos and leopards. The nearby Kyambura gorge is famous for its fast moving and elusive chimpanzees that can be tracked from the gorge nearby. Around Ishasha go on the hunt for the tree-climbing lions lounging on old fig trees.
The safari will then take you to Bwindi national park, a homestead to half of the World’s mountain gorillas. Bwindi has four habituated families and the gorillas there live in thicker tropical Afro-montane forest. the park is also rich in birdlife with 357 species of birds, 324 species of trees and 200 species of butterflies.

TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Kampala - Fortportal
Meet, greet and get briefed about the tour. Drive off to Fort Portal town passing via Mityana-Mubende road. Have a stopover at Mubende to see the historical Nakayima tree. En route lunch at Mubende and then proceed to Fort portal town which nestles in the shadow of the fabled Rwenzori Mountains also called ‘Mountains of the Moon’. Dinner and Overnight at Ndali Lodge – Full board
Day 2 : Kibale Forest
After an early breakfast, proceed to the Kibale forest for Chimpanzee tracking. During the search of these great closest man’s ancestors, different other animals can be seen. These include the L’hoestes monkeys, red colobus monkeys, the blues, red tailed monkeys and gray-cheeked Mangabeys. Tree identification is also interesting given that the forest has unique tree specie such as the Naked Adam and Eve. The local guide will provide you with detailed explanations on primates, the forest fauna and the flora. The walk is both informative and enjoyable. Time permitting, have an afternoon informative and enjoyable walk to Bigodi Swamp, a haven for bird watchers. Retire in the evening. Dinner and Overnight at Ndali Lodge – Full board
Day 3: Kibale Forest - Queen Elizabeth NP
After breakfast drive to Queen Elizabeth National park. You will enter the park while viewing the mystical Rwenzori Mountain range. With a game drive en-route you may see different animals which include the comical warthogs, lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, hyenas and a variety of antelope species. After lunch, proceed to Kazinga Channel for a launch cruise. On the cruise different animals can be seen drinking water along the shores. These include hippos, elephants, buffaloes as well as water birds. Dinner and Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge – Full Board
Day 4 : Queen Elizabeth NP
Have an early morning game drive to the Ishasha region for a hunt of the Climbing lions which always cling on Old fig trees waiting for their prey. A wonderful drive through a diverse eco-system of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is quite an awesome event you should not miss. Have lunch and later visit the local community salt works at Lake Katwe. Relax in the evening. Dinner and Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge – Full board
DAY 5: Queen Elizabeth NP - Bwindi Impenetrable NP
After breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest passing either via Ishasha, the home of the tree climbing lion, or take the alternative route through cultivated expanses. This will depend on the road situation. Explore the village and the native communities if time permitting. As you drive to the ‘Switzerland of Africa’ an area known as the Kigezi Highlands with its terraced hillside and winding roads to Bwindi. Overnight at Buhoma Homestead – Full board
Day 7: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast, proceed to the impenetrable forest for gorilla tracking. This tropical Afro montane moistforest is spectacular. It offers habitat to the endangered mountain gorillas. While tracking different other animals can be seen. These include the rare golden monkey, buffaloes, elephants, black-fronted duikers, bushbucks, leopards, giant forest hogs among others. Remember tracking the fascinating gorillas in Bwindi is an experience which often takes most of the day. However after meeting these great apes you are allowed to stay with them for only one hour. Day 8 : Kampala and Departure
After breakfast start for Kampala. Have en route lunch at Mbarara and then continue for Kampala passing via the Equator.
