Luxury Uganda City Tour - 2 days Kampala and Jinja City Tour

This is a 2 days Uganda city Tour starting and finishing in Kampala. It takes you through two major towns in Uganda, Kampala and Jinja.

Kampala is a vibrant and confident city, the centre of political intrigue, commercial activity and intellectual excellence in Uganda. This green city has got numerous tourism attractions most especially heritage based tourism. These include the Kasubi tombs-the royal tombs for the kings of Buganda kingdom, the Bahai temple-the only temple of Bahai faith in Africa, the Uganda Museum found at Kitante, Ndere cultural centre, Uganda martyrs’ shrine Namugongo and a chain of historical and religious sites.

A drive from Kampala to Jinja will take you through the Mabira forest-the largest remaining tropical rain forest in the central part of Uganda. This attractive forest is blessed with a myriad of Uganda’s birds including the Tit Hylia. Monkeys can easily be spotted from the forest while other bigger mammals in the forest include leopards, civet cats, and warthogs among others.

The tour will also take you to Jinja. Jinja lies in the eastern part of Uganda. Jinja (and the eastern part of Uganda) is an emerging destination for adrenaline adventures such as kayaking, white water rafting, and bungee jumping among others. From Jinja you will be engaged in various activities; visit to the Source of the Nile, visit the Bujagali falls, rafting at the Nile. Other holiday activities in Jinja include kayaking, quad biking, cultural visits, visit the Ghandi shrine, camping and picnicking among others.

Ugandan City Tour itinerary

Day 1 Kampala

Our guide will pick you from your respective accommodation after breakfast. Drive to Kasubi tombs the royal burial ground for the Kabakas of Buganda. These tombs are on located on Kasubi Hill, a royal palace enclosure first built in 1881. This huge traditional reed and bark-cloth buildings of the Kabakas (kings) of the Baganda people is a world Heritage site. From the site you will see the rare architectural designs the Ganda people of the past centuries exhibited, plantations of matooke, the staple food for the Baganda, a number of arts and handicrafts as well as interesting stories from the local guides about this old kingdom.

From Kasubi connect to the Bahai temple located on Kikaaya hill. Built 40 years ago the temple is the mother temple of Africa given that it is the only temple of this faith on the whole continent. Inspirational visit and relaxation in the beautiful gardens! Have lunch. Visit the Uganda Martyrs shrine in Namugongo where 22 Ugandan martyrs burnt in the period 1885-1887. Dinner and overnight in Kampala

Day 2: Mabira Forest, Bujagali Falls

After breakfast, drive to Mabira forest ecotourism site. Enter the forest for a nature walk in search of forest birds and Primates. There after proceed to Owen falls dam en route to the source of the Nile. Thereafter we shall proceed to Bujagali falls for an afternoon relaxation. Alternatively we can go straight to Jinja for white water rafting. Thereafter return to Kampala.
