This is a 15 day Uganda Safari which starts and finishes in Kampala. This safari can also be organized for you on a private basis. The safari will take you through Uganda’s famous destinations. The safari starts Kampala, Uganda’s capital well blessed with a rich cultural heritage observed in form of cultural, social and religious sites. The urban tour will also take you to Jinja, the Source of the Nile and later connect you to Murchison Falls National Park believed by many to be the most beautiful national park.

A launch cruise on the Nile is one of the most adventurous activities that cannot easily be erased from tourist memories. Later the safari will take you through the western arm of the Rift Valley as you drive to Kibaale Primate Forests.

Visiting the savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you can see a wide diversity of game such as elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos, and leopards is another awesome experience of the safari. Other activities to be carried out on the vacation include; a hunt for the tree-climbing lions lounging on old fig trees in the Ishasha region as well as a launch cruise on Kazinga Channel where schools of hippos and crocodiles can be seen. A wide variety of birds at the channel present a haven to birders yet the tropical rain forests of Maramagambo are a treasure to nature lovers.

Tracking some of the last remaining 700 mountain gorillas in the world is another omissible holiday activity in a true Ugandan safari. This activity will be carried out in Bwindi where there are 3 habituated gorilla families. From Bwindi the safari will take you to the Beautiful Lake Bunyonyi the deepest lake with historical islands. As you return to Kampala you will have an experience of Lake Mburo National park, another beautiful savanna park in the country. The safari will be finalized in Entebbe where you will visit the Uganda Wildlife Education centre and a half day excursion to Ngamba Islands located in the beautiful waters of the World’s largest fresh water body-Lake Victoria.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala City

Our safari guide will pick you from your accommodation establishments for an urban tour through Kampala city. You will visit the Kasubi Royal Tombs, the Bahai temple-the only temple of Bahai faith on Africa, and the Uganda Museum before proceeding to the Uganda Martyrs Shrine. Return to Kampala for dinner and overnight stay at your preferred accommodation establishment.

Day 2: Source of the Nile and Bujagali Falls

After having breakfast, take a drive to Jinja to see the source of the Mighty Nile. There after, travel to the Marvelous Bujagali Falls where White Water Rafters enjoy rides through the Big Grade 5 white water rapids. Alternatively you can spend the whole day rafting on the white waters of the Nile. Dinner and overnight at your preferred hotel in Jinja.

Day 3: Murchison Falls NP

After breakfast, depart for Murchison falls national park, passing through the famous war zone of the Luweero Triangle. Have a stopover at Masindi for lunch and later drive to the Top of the Falls at the Bakers summit to marvel at the Spectacular Nile squeezing its wave of rapids through the Western Rift Valley. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge/

Day 4: Murchison Falls NP

After an early breakfast embark on a morning game viewing on the northern banks of the Nile. Expect seeing a number of animals which include Elephants, Buffaloes, handsome Uganda Kobs, Hartebeests, Oribis, Giraffes, Leopards and other game. Return to the Lodge for a hearty lunch before taking a sundowner cruise to the bottom of the falls. A number of aquatic animals can also be seen which include Schools of Hippo, Crocodile, waterbuck and a host of water birds. Return for dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge/

Day 5: Murchison Falls NP-Fortportal

After breakfast, depart from Murchison Falls for Fort Portal, one of the most beautiful Ugandan towns overlooking the mountains of the moon. Have an enroute picnic lunch, arriving late evening for a nocturnal walk in the Kibale forest where different nocturnal primates may be seen such as the Galagos, Pottos and Bush babies. Dinner and overnight at the Ndali Lodge/

Day 6: Kibale Forest National Park

Early entourage into Kibale Forest for chimpanzee tracking. Different diurnal primates can be seen as you search for our close relatives. These include Grey Cheeked Mangabeys, Red-tailed Monkey, Olive Baboon, Red, Black and White Colobus monkeys among others. After lunch, take on a guided nature walk through the Bigodi wetland sanctuary where a number of birds can be seen which include the great Blue Turaco, white spotted crakes, black billed Turacos among others. Dinner and Overnight at Ndali Lodge/Jacana Lodge

Day 7: Fortportal - Queen Elizabeth NP

Early morning transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On the drive you may see different animals which include elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos, and leopards. After lunch, take an afternoon launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel the spot with the largest concentration of Hippos in Africa as well as a number of birds including migrant birds. Embark on an evening game driver before you retire to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Mweya Safari Lodge/Jacana Lodge

Day 8: Maramagambo Forest

After breakfast, take a morning game drive to the Kasenyi plains where you may see the early risers and predators returning to their hideouts. An excursion to Maramagambo Forest for a Nature walk along trails from where you will see the Bat caves and the Blue Lake. A number of medicinal plants also exist in this forest as well as some primate species, the colourful butterflies and a host of forest bird species endemics of the Albertine rift. In the evening, take a game drive in search of the wild game such as Lions, Elephants, Hyenas, Buffaloes and others. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Jacana Lodge

Day 9: Queen Elizabeth NP - Bwindi NP

After breakfast, depart for Bwindi National park driving southwards with picnic lunch through a game drive in the famous Ishasha where hunting lions can be seen clinging on fig trees. Arriving by lunch time, have lunch and later take a community walk to witness the local lifestyles and ways of living of the neighboring local communities. Dinner and overnight at the Gorilla Forest Camp/Buhoma homestead/Gorilla Resort/Buhoma Community Bandas

Day 10: Gorilla Tracking

Early breakfast and transfer to park offices for gorilla briefing before entering the impenetrable forest for tracking the wild world giants (mountain gorillas). Gorilla tracking involves moving up steeper sides of this tropical montane forest. Have either packed lunch or return to the Lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you may take a guided nature walk to explore the different features of the forest or relax at the Lodge. Dinner and night stop at Gorilla Forest Tented Camp.

Day 11: Bwindi - Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, set off for Lake Bunyonyi, one of the deepest craters lakes in Africa. In the afternoon take a canoe ride to different islands in the lake including the Akampene Island where many unmarried pregnant girls from the Bakiga community were punished by dropping them to the island to meet their death through starvation. Overnight and dinner at Nature Prime Island

Day 12: Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, go to the lake for bird watching. The lake shores attract a number of birds. Its from these birds that this second deepest lake in Africa derives its name “Bunyonyi” literally meaning birds. Canoeing, fishing and relaxation from this beautiful evergreen environment as you wait for lunch. Drive to Lake Mburo National park for dinner and overnight at Mantana tented Camp/

Day 13: Lake Mburo NP

Start your day with an early morning game drive and later have breakfast. Have a guided nature walk to the salt lick where more than 4 animals can be seen at once licking salt from the salty soils. After having lunch, depart for Kampala arriving late in the evening. Dinner and Overnight at your preferred hotel in Kampala. If interested check out urban night life in Kampala

Day 14: UWEC & Ngamba Island

After having breakfast, our safari guide will pick you and drive you to Uganda Wildlife Education centre. Have a brief tour of this interesting exsitu site and after lunch, take a speed boat to the Jane Goodall Ngamba Chimpanzee Island to view the Chimps. Return in the evening for overnight at your preferred hotel at Entebbe.

Day 15: Kampala

Last day shopping and preparation for your transfer to Entebbe International airport for your departure flight.
